Outreach & Service

“Will you seek and serve Christ in all persons, loving your neighbor as yourself?”

We practice “altar-centered social concern” at All Saints, which means that what we do, what we receive, in worship we try to take out into the world. In worship we receive the Body and Blood of Christ, forgiveness of sins, an awareness of God’s ever-present grace and mercy, and we experience the joy of communion with God and one another. Thus, we are called to extend that love, grace, and mercy to our neighbors in the world. We do that by participating in mission with the larger Episcopal Church and our Diocese of Indianapolis.

Knitting group

No rules - no pressure! Growing with knitters, inexperienced and skilled, the All Saints Knitting Group comes together to knit for fun and fellowship. An annual charity project that meets the skill levels of all attending is chosen by the group.

community engagement

We gather food and goods for local organizations, especially The Damien Center. Each month, we serve a meal at The Dayspring Center and cook “to go” meals for homeless youth and clean the drop-in center they use at Outreach, Inc

Volunteering to serve those in need has always been a joy for me. The work done by Dayspring is an inspiration and it has been an honor to coordinate donations to their important ministry.

Pride: All Saints has historically taken the lead in providing a Diocesan presence at the annual Indy Pride Festival in downtown Indianapolis. Volunteers march in the parade as a group and sponsor a booth as a witness of God’s unconditional love to all.

SOS: Socks and Soap

Since 2014, All Saints has used the season of Advent to collect socks and small bars of soap for a local men’s emergency shelter and an organization that supports those diagnosed with HIV. This ministry has grown from its initial gathering of 350 pairs of socks to 20,000 pairs of socks and 100,000 bars of soap! Read parishioner Jim Tomlinson’s history of this incredible ministry and his annual appeal letter.

This SOS ministry reminds me of this scripture:   For the ministry of this service is not only fully supplying the needs of the saints, but is also overflowing through many thanksgivings to God. 2 Corinthians 9:12

BIG Yard sale

All Saints collects donated treasures for its yard sale, done in conjunction with the Old Northside neighborhood yard sale. This event provides a wonderful opportunity for community engagement locally. The money raised from this event is usually given to support a local outreach organization. As the Old Northside has moved to a bi-annual model, the next yard sale is planned for September 2024.
